How Often Should I Post New Content On My Site

This is a question many of us ask ourselves. Do we need to post once a week, once a day, twice a day, 3 times a day, or twice a week. It really depends on your readers and what they expect from you and what your topic of your website is. When you post new content to your site you quite often will get a surge in traffic especially if you have your site linked to technorati or mybloglog or other blogging networks.

Personally I think you should try and post at the very least 3 times a week. Then as your blog increases in traffic you should consider increasing the frequency of your posts to once a day if possible. Now you can write your seven posts and schedule them to be released daily by editing the time the post will be posted. Then they will be scheduled to appear daily on your site. This is a good option if you have to do other things as well as run your site or blog.

I try and post an average of 12-15 posts per week. This is an extremely hard schedule to keep but I am on target. I am doing this to increase my website traffic and my Alexa rankings to get within the top 100,000 is my first goal then i will break it down by getting into the top 90,000, 80,000, and so on until I’m in the top 10,000. My Alexa Ranking since I have started this method has increased by about 500,000 places I am currently sitting at 287554 but I just cracked 90,653 for yesterday’s traffic not bad.

There is a direct correlation between frequency of posting and traffic and rankings. If you increase your posts as long as the content is original then you will see an increase in traffic and your rankings. Especially if your posts are keyword targeted.

Let me know how you go, do an experiment where you increase the frequency of your posts and check your details on alexa for a week or 2 weeks and lets see some results.
