How To Speed Up Your Load Time

Load time can make or break a websites business. If your site takes too long to load then your visitor is likely to leave your site and visit one that loads a lot faster. everyone is always in a hurry these days and waiting for pages to load on your computer is one of the most frustrating things. You can do some minor tweaks to make your page load faster by changing all your image files from jpg, gif to png these are a lot smaller files and load a lot faster. If you have a huge header that is a jpeg then you will no doubt have an extremely long load time as the visiting computer needs to receive that picture before it can open up the page. Also look at your source and check for errors, these can also slow down your load time. The main culprit involved in slowing down websites is images. We all know that images are necessary to make our websites more appealing and some of us use flickr to blog from using jpg images these images also slow down your blog as they are usually always jpg or gif format. You could either create your own images using a digital camera and save them as png or you could always download the image and change the format to png and then upload it to your server and still give the credit for the image to the original owner. I actually need to do this myself for my own site it is time consuming but having a quick load time is important. Personally I am going to put it on my list of things to do for next week. I found this great little FREE tool for optimizing your load time check it out: http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/
