What Type Of Blog Should I Have?
by Lyn Leckie-Matassa ~ May 19th, 2008. Filed under: Make Money Online.A lot of people who try blogging usually give it away after a few weeks or months. Why do you think this is so? I believe that many people have grand ideas on how they are going to make a quick buck. When they put in hours of hours of work into their new blog and then they find no one comes. They make posts regularly, they struggle for content, some will even use PLR articles to supply the content for their blogs. When you struggle for content then your blog is not the topic you should be working on.
You need to find something you love, what is it that really makes you excited, what is your passion? This is what your blog or home business should be about. It is really important to enjoy what you do, if you don’t enjoy it, it will come out in your posts. People who do stumble across your blog will then see that you are not passionate about what you are doing and your blog will appear tired and boring.
A lot of people want to make money online with their blogs so they set them up in the make money online field and then realize they aren’t making any money because the keyword make money online is so competitive. Then they may try some other keywords or keyword phrases to try and get better rankings in the search engines so that they can get more traffic to their website.
In creating a blog or website you can make money with any niche it doesn’t have to be a make money online topic to make you money online. Your blog could be about fishing, golf, cars, trucks, boats or gardening it doesn’t matter. So how do you make money online then? well that is simple you learn how to make money with your website. You can monetize any website or blog relatively easily, you just need to know how to.
You can monetize your website or blog with:

ROI Rocket
Roi Rocket is a unique pay per action network that connects the top advertisers on the internet with publishers willing to promote their offers based on a pre-determined commission-able amount. It uses innovative tracking technologies and proprietary affiliate management techniques to pre-select appropriate sales channels and increase clients
TTZ Media Network
This is ideal for technology and shopping related sites. TTZ Media provides product based ads that are trigger by keywords. The ads show products that are based on the keywords entered and a list of online stores where the products can be purchased. A reader clicking on the product will be taken to the store offering the product for sale. Money is generated with a CPC model. A reader need only click on the banner and visit the advertiser in order for the site to make money. The reader does not have to purchase the product from the advertiser. CPC rates are based on product categories and number of clicks the affiliate can generate. The tech/review site based affiliates realize eCPM as high as $12.
Kontera ContentLink
Kontera ContentLink allows you to make money from advertising without giving up any current advertising spots. Their technology reads your post and turns certain words into an ad. The highlighted words are double underline and an ad pops up when you hover over it. Normally Kontera requires a site have a minimum 500,000 page views per month before being accepted into the program. However, If your site is unique you may be accepted into Kontera.
Text Link Ads
Text Link Ads is one of my favorite ad networks. They help me make money online by selling those text links you see under “Great Sites.” The links offer advertisers traffic and search engine benefits and readers don’t seem to mind them at all because they are not intrusive. Your link price is set by Text Link Ads and is based on Alexa, Google PageRank, number of RSS subscribers, and other factors.
Google AdSense
If you don’t know what Google AdSense is then you’ve been living under a rock. This is pretty much a must have if you want to make money from a blog. Google display simple text and image ads on your blog that are targeted to what you’re writing about. Google has been a consistent money maker for this blog.
Bidvertiser
Bidvertiser, a CPC ad network that competes with Google AdSense. It main advantage over AdSense is its low $10 payout. You only need to make $10 in order to be paid. Big publishers wouldn’t care about this but for many small blogs that are still waiting to hit that magic $100 Google payout level, getting pay at a lower level is quite attractive.
You can see it really doesn’t matter what type of website you have you can turn it into a money maker. If you have knowledge in a specific area you can also write an information e-book which you can then sell on clickbank. when you list something to sell on clickbank it becomes available for many people to promote so even though you may have to part with about 35-50% of the sale the actual amount of sales would be astronomical compared to what you could sell yourself on your own. However in saying that it would also depend on the information in your e-book and the sales copy. Without good copy you may sell nothing not a single e book and be out of pocket for the exercise. Always test your products first. You can usually find a forum in your niche and ask some of the more seasoned veterans of internet marketing in your field what they think of your product and even ask them what price they feel would be a good price and if they could offer your product to their email list. This is called joint venture it is where you team up with people who have large email lists and get them to send out info to their subscribers, it usually takes 3 different emails as people don’t usually take notice of something until the 3rd time, it is weird I know but true.
As you can see it doesn’t matter what type of blog or website you have it is easy to make money with it either way. If you are currently not making money with your site then test out some changes try a different layout, try advertising in different spots. Test your adsense spots on your website based on where your customers are clicking on your site, get Google analytics if you don’t already have it. You can never have enough information.
There has been a lot of work done on Google Adsense and positioning on your website and what size ads you should have and show. The best thing about Google adsense is that the ads are targeted so you should get ads specific to your content.
